The Kingdom of Syronia was an ancient nation based from the island of Amalia. The Syronian Kingdom was founded around 300 BD and collapsed in the Year 228 after the Amalian Rebellion. At the Kingdom's height it held the western coastal sections of Elysarina and Islasansia.

History[]

Founding of Syronia[]

Prior to the creation of the Kingdom of Syronia, the Syronian peoples were a loose alliance of tribes. Around the year 300 pre-dawn, the Syronian tribal elders elected Valentisco as the first King of Syronia. King Valentisco unified the Syronian tribes and established a seafaring empire, creating outposts along the Dundorian coast.

By 200 pre-dawn, the city of Valenburg had become the largest city in Aradisium. Other major Syronian settlements included Saladoria, Stormbourne and Daleforth.

Collapse of Syronia[]

War of Conquest[]

The Syronian War of Conquest was a campaign fought between the Kingdoms of Syronia, Elysarina and Islasansia. In the year 207 the Syronian's launched and invasion on Islasansia. As the Islasansian's were an ally and important trade partner of Elysarina, the Elysarinian's declared war on Syronia. The war lasted 12 years with the Elysarinian's and Islasansian's surrending large areas of land around there western coastal regions to the Syronian's.

Amalian Rebellion[]

The Amalian Rebellion began in 223 AD. The Kingdom of Syronia was made up of two ethnic groups, the Amalian's and the Helanian's. Whilst both ethnic groups were represented in the Royal Court by Noblemen, the Royalty and and most powerful noblemen were of Helanian ethnicity.

When King Darvian came to the Syronian throne in 223 AD, he banned Amaliam noble's from the Royal court and stripped them of there land and titles in a bid to create a pure Helanian Syronia. Lord Thadan Velanto, the most senior Amalian noblemen, fled the island and took up refuge in Elysarina along with his family and hundreds of Amalian's.

King Darvian led a campaign if ethnic cleansing against the ethnic Amalian's in what became known as the Syronian Blood Cull. Many more Amalian's fled to Elysarina and fearing that Lord Valento would raise an army, King Darvian sent an ultimatum to the Elysarinian's to return Valento for trial. However, the Elysarinian's and later the Islasansian's agreed to support the Amalian's in a war, if there lands were returned back to them.

Valento became known as the King of Air, for he held no lands, but was accepted by the Amalian people's as there leader. He sent his two sons, Sindar and Aruden on a secret mission to gain support on the island of Amalia amongst the smaller ethnic groups, promising them land and titles if they helped the Amalian's overthrow King Darvian. The Rosan, Lavinium, Balios and Lorent ethnic groups, already somewhat suppressed by the Syronian crown were quick to take up arms against King Darvian.

The uprisings on the Amalian island allowed Valento, to lead his armies against the Syronian defenders in Elsarina and Islasansia. The Syronian defenders on the mainland were cut off from any support and soon Valento and recovered the Elsarina and Islasansia lands.

In 236 AD Valento led his army across to Amalia and upon arrival his forces were instantly swelled by the rebel forces opposing King Darvian. The penultimate factor of the war was to be at the Battle of Arcallia, where it is said 300,000 combatants fought for 5 days led by Darvian and Valento. Darvian was struck down on the fifth day of the battle and the remaining Syronian noblemen either surrendered or fled the island, ending the war. Valento was officially crowned King of Amalia.
